A conference week massage in Amsterdam, near the RAI and beyond

When a large conference comes to the RAI, the city changes for a week: hotels fill, taxis vanish at six and every restaurant is booked. Evenings with the house fill too, so a little planning goes a long way.

While you read

Nothing here asks you to decide anything. The whole page can be read and left alone.

A conference week massage in Amsterdam is booked in a city that is fuller than usual. The large exhibitions and congresses at the RAI, in the south of the city, bring tens of thousands of visitors, and for those days the hotels around the convention centre, the Zuidas and much of the centre are full. Delegates spend their days in halls and their evenings at receptions, and the free evening, when it comes, is wanted by many people at once.

Why a conference week counts as a peak date

The house treats a very large conference week as one of its peak dates, together with King's Day, Pride, the Amsterdam Dance Event and the days from Christmas to New Year. On a peak date every booking carries a deposit of half the fee, whether or not the house knows you, and the balance is paid when she arrives. If you are unsure whether your event counts, ask in the thread; the house names the weeks when asked. The deposit entry has the full list.

Booking a conference week massage in Amsterdam ahead

Delegates who book early in the week, for a known evening, get their choice of name and hour. Look at the conference programme, find the evening without a dinner or a reception, and write on the first day. An hour or ninety minutes suits the middle of a congress, when the next morning starts with an early session. The last night, after the closing reception, is the evening most delegates choose for a longer booking.

Getting around in a busy week

Traffic around the RAI slows badly in the hour after the halls close. The therapist knows the city and allows for it, and the arrival window stays at forty to sixty minutes from confirmation in central Amsterdam, including the RAI district and the Zuidas. If you are staying further out, near Schiphol or in a suburb, mention it; airport hotels are arranged separately, as the note on Schiphol explains.

The hotel room in a conference week

Conference hotels are busy and their lifts are crowded at the start and end of the day. Evenings after nine are quieter. If your hotel asks visitors to be met in the lobby, mention it in the thread. Prepare the room before you go to the evening's event if you plan to book straight afterwards, so it is warm when you return.

A word on fatigue

Days of standing at a stand or sitting in a hall leave the legs and lower back stiff. Say so in the thread, and the session can concentrate on them.

Questions this raises

Is every conference a peak date?

No, only very large ones that fill the city. Ask in the thread and the house will say whether your week counts.

Can I still book on the day in a conference week?

Yes, if a therapist is free, though the evenings fill early. On a peak date the deposit applies even to a booking made that afternoon.

Does a peak date change the fee?

No. The rates on every profile stay the same; only the deposit rule changes, so half the fee is paid ahead.

When you are ready

One message with the district and the hour is the whole first step. The reply carries a name, a time and the total.
